I graduated in 2002 from Wilfred Laurier University in Waterloo, ON with my Master's Degree in Social Work.  My specialization is in social work with individuals, families and groups.

Work Experience 

I worked two years as child protection worker for Bruce County Children's Aid Society before returning to University to obtain my Master's of Social Work Degree.  

In 2002 I began my career as a children's mental health counsellor at the Huron-Perth Centre for Children & Youth in Clinton, ON.  In this role I am privileged to provide counselling services to families with children up to their 18th birthday. 

In 2016 I opened my private social work practice providing confidential therapy services to individuals, couples, and families. My private practice hours are limited to Thursdays (9 am to 5 pm)  to allow me to continue in my role as a counsellor at the Huron-Perth Centre alongside my private practice.

Training & Professional Development

As a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) I am required to complete a Continuing Competence Plan each year in order to ensure that I am providing the public with quality and professional service.

I am an EMDR Certified Therapist with EMDRIA (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing International Association).   I continue to participate professional development training opportunities, and clinical consultation with experts who are EMDRIA certified consultants and trainers.  For more information on EMDR please refer to   ​

I have participated in training on the Circle of Security Model.  This attachment based parenting paradigm helps parents to recognize how being the secure base, and safe haven for their children by being bigger, stronger, wiser and kind in their parenting approach provides the foundation for a secure attachment.  This is the foundation of emotional wellness for us all.   For more information on Circle of Security please refer to
